Zoe Saldana Looking Forward to "Avatar" Sequel

Zoe Saldana is super excited at the prospect of having a starring role in not one, but two blockbuster sci-fi franchises. Star Trek 2 is already in talks and J.J. Abrams is reportedly in the process of writing a script, while James Cameron hinted in an interview the other day that he plans on bringing us all back to Pandora eventually.

"I mean, I'm just grateful that between Star Trek II and Avatar II, I'm employed," Saldana joked with Marc Malkin at a benefit for Haiti that she was hosting at the Palihouse hotel alongside Avatar costar Michelle Rodriguez and Emile Hirsch.

"Jim has proven once again that even though he takes a decade between his projects, he promises to deliver you the most amazing adventure ever," Saldana added. Saldana isn't kidding when she says James Cameron likes to take his time between projects. Although he admitted he's definitely interested in making a sequel to the mega-hit Avatar, it is a process that can't be rushed.

"We always planned on continuing the world and continuing the characters. In fact, that was part of the original pitch to 20th Century Fox," the Oscar-nominated director said at the Producers Guild of America Awards. But don't hold your breath! "We just have to come up with a great story, which we haven't done yet," Cameron says. "I have a rough story, but you need to make a script, so that might take some time. Don't start going to buy your tickets."
